I'm passionate about lactation counseling because I want every mother and baby to have the support and information they need to be successful in their feeding journey, no matter what it looks like for them. When my first son was born in 2022 I never questioned that I wanted to exclusively breastfeed but when we experienced challenges with latch right after birth, I felt like I failed him. We did not receive the right support with lactation at the beginning and his early days were a tremendous challenge and filled with doubt. Luckily we found a lactation counselor that changed everything for us and with their help we were able to breastfeed successfully and continue breastfeeding for over 2 years.

 

After that experience I knew the difference that well informed, evidence based, and compassionate lactation counseling could make. I continued to educate myself about the latest science around lactation and discovered that so much of what I had been previously taught about breastfeeding just wasn't true. I continued on to breastfeed my second son, born in 2024, without experiencing the same challenges I had in the past. I knew now that a different experience was possible and I wanted to bring that to other families.

 

I completed training to become a Certified Lactation Counselor through the Healthy Children Project in 2025. My focus now is to bring evidence-based, up to date, and inclusive lactation support to families that is rooted in human physiology and neuroprotective care, that accounts for practicalities of family life and parental mental health, and that brings joy and ease into the mother/baby feeding relationship.

As a trained massage therapist I also offer prenatal and postpartum bodywork that centers on supporting the nervous system while attending to the unique needs of pregnant and postpartum individuals.
